From data centers to supercharging stations: The four mainstays of liquid cooling pipelines

The Inevitable Choice from Servers to Supercharging Stations

AI server single-chip power consumption breaks through kilowatts, and electric vehicles pursue “10 minutes of charging for 400 kilometers of range”. They all point to the same challenge: how to efficiently dissipate the rapidly increasing heat?

Liquid cooling, with its superior thermal conductivity and heat capacity compared to air, has replaced air cooling technology and become the key to breaking the deadlock.

Regardless of how the application scenario changes, the requirements for the core component of liquid cooling systems—the connecting pipes—remain stringent:

* Absolutely reliable: Achieving a zero-leakage lifespan of several years.

* Stable materials: Long-term resistance to coolants (such as deionized water, ethylene glycol, and fluorinated fluids) without swelling or precipitation.

* Resistant to dynamic environments: Withstands periodic temperature changes, system vibration, and pressure fluctuations.

 

Ⅱ.Main products of water-cooled and liquid-cooled hose

① Water-cooled liquid cooling hose (basic general type)

Structure: Both the inner and outer layers are made of EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer), with a reinforcing layer made of high-strength polyester filament braid.

Advantages: High cleanliness, suitable for conveying ultrapure water (UPW), ethylene glycol/propylene glycol-based coolants, and various refrigerants.

Meets halogen-free, peroxide sulfidation, and UL94-V0 flame retardant requirements; wide operating temperature range (-40°C to +180°C).

Applications: General-purpose server liquid cooling, industrial equipment heat dissipation, and internal connection piping for fully liquid-cooled supercharging piles.

② Water-cooled liquid cooling hoses (upgraded version with lining)

Structure: A barrier layer innermost

Advantages: Significantly reduces coolant permeability, especially suitable for expensive or volatile media such as fluorinated liquids.

Applications: Immersion liquid cooling systems with extremely high media retention requirements, and precision cooling loops in high-value data centers.

 

③PTFE water-cooled liquid cooling hose (limit-resistance type)

Structure: The inner layer is made of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE, commonly known as Teflon), which can be made into corrugated or straight pipes. The outer layer is usually reinforced with stainless steel wire braiding.

Advantages: Excellent chemical inertness and temperature resistance (-80°C to +260°C), resistant to almost all chemicals.

Smooth inner wall, non-absorbent and non-leaching, high cleanliness level.

Applications: Ultrapure water transportation in semiconductor manufacturing equipment; research or special industrial scenarios involving highly corrosive coolants.

 

④ Metal water-cooled liquid cooling pipes (high-strength and reliable type)

Features: Utilizes 304/316L stainless steel corrugated pipe, combined with advanced processes such as the “Turkish four-stage molding” to achieve high precision and high reliability.

Core Advantages: High mechanical strength, strong pressure resistance, and able to withstand severe vibration and impact.
