1. Hose standard
This SAE standard covers jointed and jointless fuel and oil hoses that can be used in gasoline, oil, diesel, oil, or vaporized oils in fuel systems and internal combustion engine drive trains in automobiles, trains, and ships.
SAE 30R2: Jointed and jointless hoses with synthetic rubber inner and outer rubber;
SAE 30R3: Rubber-coated or adhesive-coated fabric braided reinforced light hose;
SAE 30R5: hose with synthetic rubber as inner and outer rubber for implanting wire;
SAE 30R6, SAE 30R7, SAE 30R8: Low-pressure connector and non-joint hose with synthetic rubber as inner and outer rubber;
SAE 30R9: Medium pressure fuel injection joints and jointless hoses with synthetic rubber as inner and outer rubber;
SAE 30R10: Low-pressure fuel hoses for tanks;
SAE 30R11: low permeability fuel drain hose;
SAE 30R12: Low-permeability fuel supply and return lines.
2. Hose structure
Category 1 - This type of hose contains a smooth inner layer of a suitable synthetic rubber and is reinforced with a layer of woven, knitted, twisted or woven fabric. The outer rubber is a suitable oil resistant, ozone resistant synthetic rubber.
Category 2 - These types of hoses contain a smooth inner layer of a suitable synthetic rubber and are reinforced with two or more layers of woven fabrics. The outer rubber is a suitable oil resistant, ozone resistant synthetic rubber.
Category 3 - This type of hose contains a smooth inner layer of a suitable synthetic rubber and is reinforced with a layer of textile weave. The outer rubber is a suitable oil resistant, ozone resistant synthetic rubber.
